The Managing Editor, Content Development will play a key role in shaping the future of Frog Street's early childhood education products. This individual will oversee the end-to-end development of print and digital content, ensuring it aligns with Frog Street's mission and maintains the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with exceptional project management skills, a collaborative spirit, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of early childhood educators and learners. Spanish bilingualism is preferred, but not required.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Content Leadership & Management
- Oversee the development of high-quality content for print and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices for early childhood learning.
- Manage a team of editors, content creators, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Ensure all content complies with relevant laws, standards, and best practices for print and digital products, including accessibility and copyright compliance.
Project Management
- Plan and manage complex, multi-faceted content development projects, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring efficient workflows and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including strategy, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment across all departments.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective deliverables.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
Digital & Technical Expertise
- Leverage technical and digital literacy to guide the development of innovative digital products and solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration of digital and print components in curriculum offerings.
Professional Learning
Apply a deep understanding of professional learning best practices for adult learners to develop content that supports educators' needs.
Innovation & Strategy
- Drive innovation in curriculum development, staying ahead of industry trends and incorporating new methodologies and technologies.
- Act as a thought leader in early childhood education, contributing to the strategic vision for Frog Street's product offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in content development, publishing, or curriculum design, with a focus on early childhood education preferred.
- Spanish bilingualism preferred.
- Proven experience managing teams, projects, and budgets.
- Expertise in print publishing processes, compliance laws, and best practices.
- Strong digital literacy with experience in developing blended products.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building strong relationships internally and externally.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, nimble problem solver with an innovative mindset and a "go-getter" attitude.
