We are currently seeking a Neckwear Designer specializing in textiles and/or neckwear to join our Corporate Design & Merchandising team in our New York office.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Position Summary:
The Designer will play a key role in bringing fresh, innovative ideas to life by combining research, collaboration, and detailed technical execution to create standout designs for our brands.
Essential Job Functions:
- Stay informed about current design trends, industry influences, and competitor activity.
- Create trend boards and collateral materials for internal use, licensors, and customer presentations.
- Collaborate with the mills & vendors to develop the seasonal line by providing direction on styles and colors.
- Manage presentation preparation by working with the Sales team on meeting requirements. This includes pulling actual products for key account meetings, market weeks, and trade shows.
- Collaborate with licensors, merchandising, and design teams to communicate and present ideas effectively.
- Design collections that align with brand direction, market needs, and company initiatives.
- Oversee the design process from initial research through to technical development and market presentation.
- Manage the product design lifecycle, including preparing tech packs, sample requests, PLM system updates, and factory communications.
- Ensure deadlines on the design calendar are met.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Textile Design, or a related field.
- Required: 3-5 years of experience in neckwear design or textile development.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with web-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of textiles, sourcing, and designing within target costs.
- Domestic and international travel is required; prior overseas travel experience is a plus.
- Ability to receive, lift, open, and unpack boxes containing product samples.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Creative and innovative, with the ability to contribute unique ideas.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Merchandising, Sales, Packaging, and Sourcing teams.
