The Role

This leadership position focuses on shaping AMD’s global social and paid media strategies, driving engagement and delivering measurable results for a multi-billion-dollar company. Collaborating with cross-functional teams across communications, marketing, sales, and business units, this role is pivotal in advancing AMD’s brand leadership in high-performance computing. The Director oversees a team of in-house social and paid media managers, along with external agency resources, fostering innovation and excellence in media strategy and execution. This position offers the opportunity to create impactful programs that connect with diverse audiences, leveraging cutting-edge tools and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global social media strategy to strengthen the AMD brand and drive meaningful engagement.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of global paid media strategies, ensuring alignment with AMD’s business objectives and efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee social and paid media budgets, maximizing value and ROI while consolidating efforts with the global agency of record.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms, providing actionable insights and regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Manage governance and best practices for social media use, including reputation management, crisis response, and influencer engagement.
  • Drive alignment between owned, earned, and paid media strategies, fostering innovation and process improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional training initiatives to enhance media strategy knowledge across teams and executive leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Expertise in developing and executing global media strategies in a complex, matrixed organization, ideally within the technology sector.
  • Demonstrated success in social media content strategy, paid media planning, and audience engagement across major platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing trends, analytics tools, and AI-driven technologies for media and content optimization.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and leading diverse teams across global markets.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform decision-making and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with a focus on delivering measurable results.

Academic Credentials

  • A degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
