The Congressional Research Service (CRS), Office of Administrative Operations, is offering a 120-day opportunity for a qualified individual at the GS-11 or GS-12 to serve on a full-time temporary promotion to the GS-13 OR a qualified individual at the GS-13 (no promotion) to serve on a full-time detail as a Financial Management Specialist in the Procurement and Administrative Services Section.

The Financial Management Specialist assists in the execution of a wide range of duties which includes providing guidance, instructions, and training to lower-graded Financial Management Specialists, using financial management systems to complete financial transactions (i.e., obligation, payment, and liquidation of funds) for CRS and LOC contracts, and other authorized expenditures (e.g., travel and training expenditures), overseeing the completion of financial studies and analyses, maintaining financial data in financial management systems, and related spreadsheets, databases, and other analytical tools. Candidates with knowledge of payroll, non-personnel expenses, travel, interagency agreements, and providing expert support in complex financial systems such as GovTA, Infoview, and Momentum are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities Expected:

  1. Ability to perform administrative functions for a division or office.
  2. Ability to apply analytical and evaluative techniques.
  3. Ability to perform logistical support activities for a division or office.
  4. Ability to interact collaboratively with others.
  5. Ability to utilize computer technology and data entry database.
