Position Overview
Join us in the summer of 2025 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking organized and enthusiastic Music Library Reference Interns who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. In this role of Music Library Intern, you'll serve as the face of the Fennell Music Library during the summer.
What You Get To Do
- Provide reference assistance for faculty, staff, and campers
- Circulate solo and chamber music and sound recordings
- Process new library materials
- Assist Ensemble Library Interns (marking bowings, binding parts, etc.)
- Complete additional projects assigned in accordance with the intern's interests and professional goals (areas may include cataloging, collection development, outreach, etc.)

- Compensation: $1825

What You Need
- Availability 6/12/25-8/4/25
- Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate. While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited.
- Candidates working towards or holding a Master of Library Science are preferred
- Knowledge of music and the ability to read music required
- Familiarity with print and electronic music resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient level of computer literacy (experience with Mac OS is preferred)
- Applicants must possess excellent customer service skills, be very attentive to detail, and display a willingness to work as part of a team

- Rustic Living: You'll be living in a residence hall, surrounded by the beauty of northern Michigan. Air conditioning is not provided; you may bring your own fan.

- Outdoor Work Environment: Many of your duties will involve working outdoors, often for extended periods, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important.
