Who You Are:

Versar is seeking a full-time Expert Technical Writer.

*This position is contingent upon award.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provides support to read and analyze highly technical materials and to create presentations of that information. This may be specifications, drawings, user manuals, presentations, reports, or training documents.
  • Authors complex software documentation, including user manuals, release notes, installation guides, design guides, training materials, technical guidance, and other technical documentation.
  • This individual will partner with other teams, such as development, customer engineering, marketing, and technical support groups to understand and respond to customer documentation needs.
  • Create new documentation and evaluate, edit, improve, and correct legacy documentation.

What You’ll Bring:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced ability to design and develop Microsoft Products to include Office, Project and SharePoint.
  • Excellent writing, editing, drafting and journaling skills, to include the ability to design and create documents and artifacts from notional ideas.
  • Conceptual and practical understanding of all project management knowledge areas preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and handle tight deadlines.
  • Highly responsive to requested needs.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with confidential and proprietary information using utmost discretion.

Qualifications and Special Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree + 15 relevant years
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, math, and science degrees are required
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $125,000 - $131,000 per year

Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite.

The position is located in Washington, DC area.
