Reporting to the Director of the Library with secondary reporting line through Dec. 2024 to the Vice-Provost and Dean of Student Affairs (because of the use of grant funding for this position through Dec. 2024 ) is a unique position that combines the Librarys role in supporting and enhancing wellness for TUC students, faculty and staff, promotes a supportive, comfortable, and welcoming library environment, carries out supervisory and management responsibilities in the Library during M-Th evening hours, and has responsibility for library processing duties and special projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with Library Team, Student Affairs, and the TUC Community Wellness program to support, promote, and expand wellness initiatives in the Library. 2. Works with Library Team to identify, plan, and deliver library exhibits, programs, and other events aimed at promoting wellness and work-life balance. 3. Offers assistance by connecting students with wellness resources in the Library.
Library Functions Operations: 1. Serves as the supervisor for the Library student assistants on federal work study or on Library payroll including hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and timesheet approval of the Library student assistants. Serves as the main Federal Work Study supervisor, with the Access Services Librarian as alternate work study supervisor. 2. Serves as the Library supervisor and manager during evening hours M-Th and ensures smooth transition between daytime and evening staffing. 3. Oversees safe and proper shutdown of equipment at closing and the proper closing of the Library. 4. Provides customer services for circulation, printing, network access and basic reference inquiries. Makes referrals to the appropriate subject librarian or librarian on duty for research inquiries. 5. Maintains an organized and inviting library environment including reshelving, stack maintenance, general library upkeep.
Facilities and Safety Management: 1. Provides daily log to Library Director with any issues related to Library facilities and operations that occurred during the hours the Evening Operations Manager was on duty. Deals with any safety, facility, security issues that require immediate attention. 2. Serves as one of the designated Campus Security Authority employees under the Clery Act and Title IX regulations.
Processing Support: 1. Assists with checking of links in special resource guides and social justice reading lists. 2. Assists with archives processing. 3. Checks contents of education test materials after return from circulation and updates contents as needed and assists with other special projects as needed.

Supervises 4-6 library student assistants on federal work study or on Library payroll including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and timesheet approval of the Library student assistants.

Qualifications:
Associate degree or bachelors degree required. Previous library experience required. Previous supervisory experience and management experience highly desired. Experience working in an academic institution highly desired
