JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Marketing and Communications office within Penn State Global at University Park is accepting applications for one (1) marketing assistant to join our team this spring semester to support the office's communications, marketing, and outreach goals. The marketing assistant position is part-time (10-15 hours per week) at the University Park campus. Pay is $12.00/hour. This position will extend through the spring 2025 semester with the possibility of continuation if interested.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with department-wide marketing and communications efforts (including, but not limited to)

  • Assist with social media content development and creation

  • Stay up-to-date on digital media trends and incorporate them into content strategies

  • Produce high-quality multimedia content including images, videos, and infographics

  • Design print and digital materials for the promotion of events and programming

  • Assist the marketing office with event planning and preparation

  • Organize promotional materials

  • Other administrative duties as time and skills permit

Qualifications

Current Penn State undergraduate or graduate students interested in the field of marketing and communications with a passion for promoting global learning experiences. The ideal candidates should have a background in social media, a creative eye for design, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment both independently and within a team. Candidates comfortable with being in front of a camera are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have been or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to marketing, communications, or design.
