POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manager of Donor Communications plays a vital role in the organization by crafting compelling and persuasive content that inspires potential donors, retains current supporters, and effectively communicates the impact of their contributions. This position requires a skilled writer with a deep understanding of donor engagement strategies and the ability to create content that resonates with diverse audiences. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Individual Giving and other team members to ensure all messaging aligns with the organization's mission and fundraising goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content Strategy and Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive donor content strategy that aligns with the organization's overall fundraising and engagement goals, ensuring a consistent and impactful message across all platforms. Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to align messaging across all channels, ensuring a unified approach to donor engagement. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in nonprofit communications and fundraising to continually enhance the quality and effectiveness of content. Develop a content calendar to ensure timely delivery of communications and consistency in messaging throughout the year. Donor Communications:

Write engaging newsletters, emails, and other communication materials that keep donors informed about the organization's activities, achievements, and impact. Tailor content to various donor segments, utilizing data and insights to personalize communications and enhance donor engagement. Fundraising Campaigns:

Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop persuasive content for various fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, giving days, and major gift solicitations. Conduct research to identify key messaging points that resonate with target audiences and effectively communicate the urgency and importance of the organization's mission. Monitor and analyze the performance of fundraising content to determine effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for future campaigns. Solicitation Materials:

Create high-quality solicitation materials, including brochures, proposal documents, and case statements that clearly articulate the organization's needs and the impact of donor contributions. Ensure that all solicitation materials align with the strategies and branding guidelines, maintaining a cohesive voice and message across all platforms. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop visually appealing and informative materials that enhance the overall presentation and appeal to donors. Event Promotions:

Write promotional content for fundraising events, including invitations, save-the-date notices, and event programs, to encourage attendance and support from the donor community. Highlight the significance of donor contributions in event communications, ensuring donors understand their impact and the value of their involvement. Utilize storytelling techniques to create engaging narratives around the events, showcasing beneficiary stories and the direct impact of donations. Speaking Points and Event Run of Show:

Prepare speaking points for presenters at donor-related events, ensuring key messages are effectively communicated and aligned with the organization's goals. Develop detailed outlines for the event run of show, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of activities and effective donor engagement. Collaborate with event planners to gather necessary information about event logistics, participant roles, and key messages to be conveyed during the event. QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or related fields. Proven experience (5+ years) in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit communications. Demonstrated expertise in developing donor-centric content, including case statements, proposals, and marketing materials. Proficiency in annual giving campaigns and major gift solicitation processes. Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) Experience with copywriting, editing, and storytelling for diverse audiences. Knowledge of philanthropic principles, nonprofit best practices, and donor stewardship strategies. Strong project management experience with the ability to handle multiple deadlines. Technical Skills

Writing and Content Creation: Ability to craft compelling donor communications, case statements, and proposals. Digital Tools: Expertise in MS Office Suite and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite). Data Analysis: Understanding of fundraising metrics and using data to guide strategy. Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Soft Skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail. Ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like. Occasional local travel to events within the regional area. Extended viewing of computer monitors. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SALARY:

60K plus competitive benefits package
