Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is the flagship casino resort of Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. This world-renowned entertainment, gaming and hospitality destination unveiled a $1.5 billion expansion on Oct. 24, 2019. New offerings include 638 upscale guestrooms in the first-ever Guitar Hotel, 168 luxury guestrooms and unique swim-up suites in the adjacent Oasis Tower, and 465 newly redesigned guestrooms in Hard Rock Hotel for a combined room count of 1,271 throughout the resort. Responsibilities

The Public Relations Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing & Public Relations to support the Public Relations Department through the execution of public relations initiatives with the intent to increase guest patronage and profitability, enhance brand awareness, protect the organization’s reputation and drive publicity for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. This includes pursuing positive media exposure, organizing media tours, and supporting internal functions related to gaming, entertainment, hotel, food & beverage, and events.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize and implement media relations and public relations functions.
  • Develop PR strategies and campaigns that align with brand objectives.
  • Write press releases, media alerts, and online content.
  • Proofread marketing materials.
  • Draft website copy and maintain current press kit.
  • Interface with PR agency partners and provide brand guidance.
  • Facilitate onsite news media logistics.
  • Provide PR support for filming, media broadcasts, and photoshoots.
  • Vet media solicitation calls and follow up with recommendations.
  • Coordinate media events and oversee all logistics.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at events.
  • Maintain photo galleries of property shots and events.
  • Support marketing sponsorship and community relations activities.
  • Organize digital assets and communication files.
  • Review media proposals for approval.
  • Maintain publicity clips and monitor alerts.
  • Provide Social Media team with timely information regarding events.
  • Work directly with mass media to maximize exposure.
  • Coordinate logistics among multiple departments.
  • Maintain and update the crisis communication plan.
  • Maintain lists for community, vendor, and media invites.
  • Provide research and planning assistance for PR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a PR agency or corporate environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of the media relations landscape.
  • Experience in writing press releases and external communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong media relations and networking abilities.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in event planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Spanish speaker preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Duties may be performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position requires frequent standing and walking.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
