Nature of Work:

The Social Media & Content Coordinator will be tasked with social media support and content creation for the club. A primary focus of this role will be daily publishing, copywriting, content planning and content creation for Colorado Rapids 2, and the Colorado Rapids Academy teams. This role will also support first team channels, sponsored social media assets and the club’s app.

Examples of work performed:

  • Support and execute the day-to-day social media coverage of Rapids, Rapids 2, Rapids Academy social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook)
  • Cultivate and enhance the voice of the Rapids, Rapids 2 and Rapids Academy online via copywriting and fan engagement
  • Provide real-time social coverage of Rapids, Rapids 2 and Rapids Academy matches, training and relevant events
  • Work with Rapids Communications Team to arrange content with players and coaches
  • Contribute to planning content from ideation to publication including social focused video, graphic design and copywriting for key moments during the season
  • Stay up to date on emerging social media platforms, trends and best practices and recommend innovative strategies to reach new audiences and engage existing followers
  • Research and develop creative ideas and strategies that have potential to be monetized and support club business objectives
  • Maintain a weekly/monthly social media calendar to ensure consistent and quality content

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communication or relevant area of study
  • Demonstrated understanding of all major social media platforms and trends including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn
  • Experience handling business or commercial social media accounts, sports experience preferred
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings including all games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends and/or holidays and travel as needed
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment and keep calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of soccer, MLS and entertainment industry
  • Proficient in AP Style
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with asset management systems as well as social media management tools
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize goals and work in a deadline focused environment
  • Strong teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and self-motivate

Compensation

  • $21.64 per hour
