About the Organization:
The Eau Claire Express begins their 20th year in the summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is comprised of teams of the top college players from across North America. Each team is operated similar to a professional minor league team, providing development opportunities to players, front office staff members, interns, and coaches. In addition, the Express is operated similarly to other Northwoods League teams in that their players use wooden bats, experience long road trips and overnight stays, and play nightly in front of thousands of fans. Job Questions:

The duties of the Media Relations intern includes any or all of the following:
- Official statistics at all Express home games
- Set up and run scoring software
- Virtual Media Guide for all Express home games
- Provide ideas for improvements to the program template
- Update rosters, statistics, and other content for each game
- Upload program to Express website
- Message display boards
- Update rosters and promos prior to each home game
- Create pregame information slides prior to the season
- Express website
- Write recap after each Express game
- Communicate with marketing interns regarding upcoming giveaways and promote in recap stories
- Roster changes
- Add to/remove from roster
- Write web story on all roster additions
- Update Express team and individual records throughout season
- Conduct weekly interview with Express player/coach and post to site and for use in Virtual Media Guide and Game-day program
- Assist with updates to promotions page
- Post NWL press releases to website
- Make any necessary changes in layout and design
- Write recap after each Express game
- Communicate all upcoming promotions to TV, newspaper, and radio outlets via press release
- Write all Express press releases
- Assist with pre-season media day if directed
- Work with Graphic Design and Photography intern on production of all Express trading cards and ensure deadlines are met
- Get Express player headshots from photography intern to send to NWL
- Assist with player and mascot appearances and community events if necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferably pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Sports Management, or Marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task
- Experience with scoring sporting events
