Direct contact with hiring managers by agencies will not be tolerated and may affect your ability to work with Adverum in the future.The Senior Director of Corporate Communications will lead the development and implementation of the company's strategic corporate communications strategy to build identity, reputation, and visibility across multiple stakeholders. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing strategic and tactical communications initiatives. The ideal candidate has significant expertise in traditional and digital media and external communications and understands business strategies and executive priorities.What you'll do: Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communications strategies that align with business objectives and enhance the company's reputation.Manage and direct external agency partners, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and effective execution of communications plans.Build and maintain relationships with external media outlets, including news, business, and industry trade publications, to secure local, regional, and national coverage.Oversee creating and distributing corporate communications materials, including press releases, Q&As, website content, executive talking points, fact sheets, and social media materials.Prepare company spokespeople for media interviews and other engagements, including training and ensuring they are prepared to address key issues as they emerge.Collaborate with internal departments such as investor relations, government affairs & policy, legal, human resources, business development, and other parts of the organization to ensure cohesive messaging.Monitor and analyze media coverage and public perception, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.Lead crisis communications efforts, developing and implementing plans to manage and mitigate potential issues.Support internal communications initiatives to ensure consistent and effective messaging across the organization.About you: You are a strategic thinker with a tactical mindset, capable of high-level planning and hands-on execution. You have a passion for storytelling and a keen understanding of leveraging various communications channels to achieve business objectives. You are a strong leader and collaborator, able to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Proven track record of developing and executing successful corporate communications strategies.Strong media relations skills and established contacts within traditional and digital media.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Experience in crisis communications and issues management.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social), content management systems (WordPress, Drupal), and media monitoring tools (Cision, Meltwater).Industry Experience: Experience in gene therapy and ophthalmology is highly preferred$216,848 - $262,116 a yearThe salary range for this position is $216,848 USD to $262,116 USD annually, with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, including education, length of experience, location, and market data. Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the applicable Company equity incentive award plan. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
