Milestone is looking for a Sr. Technical Writer with experience documenting internal and external facing processes. The role is part of a team focused on defining customer-facing processes to support the onboarding of new business partners and operational support procedures. The role requires someone who brings tools and templates for creating highly professional and polished deliverables. In addition to process descriptions and procedure definitions, the Technical Writer will also be expected to work closely with Business and Systems Analysts to document process flows.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Business and System analysts to define process flows, including actors involved in the process, decisions throughout the process, artifacts produced by the process, and technical resources (e.g., software applications) used in the process
  • Interview business stakeholders to identify primary list of processes and procedures that need to be documented and to understand the business context of each process and procedure
  • Create a process document for each unique process that includes a process definition, business objective, the event that triggers the process, process dependencies and constraints, the people who are involved in the process, the order of steps to complete the process, artifacts produced by the process, and downstream processes that are dependent on the outcome of this process
  • Facilitate document reviews and incorporate feedback from review into next version of document
  • Use version control to track each release and revision of a document
  • Create templates and leverage style guides to maintain consistency across all documents and process flows
  • Store all versions of documents, process flows, and artifacts in SharePoint
  • Meet aggressive deadlines and set realistic expectations for delivery dates


Required Skills:
  • 3 years of experience authoring technical documentation in an enterprise environment
  • Expert level skills in MS Word, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Prior experience working with SharePoint to store artifacts and handle version control of each document
  • Very organized, thorough, and high attention to detail
