Your Role
Join Gensler's Newport Beach team as a Senior Interior Designer, where innovation meets functionality in creating stunning interior education spaces. Our diverse projects span workplace, commercial, retail, education, and healthcare sectors, all unified by our inside-out design philosophy that positively impacts both occupants and the community. As a key member of our design team, you'll blend artistic vision with technical expertise and business acumen to craft functional and aesthetically appealing interior environments. Your creativity will elevate our interior design projects, making them more engaging and impactful.
What You Will Do
Independently lead design projects, with oversight from Design Director and Project Management
Lead and energize teams, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills
Provide technical guidance to junior team members
Collaborate with project management to implement design plans across various complex projects
Supervise design and interior delivery, coordinating with Project Leads
Handle a range of large, specialized projects independently
Innovate and solve design challenges creatively
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines
Mentor junior designers, fostering their professional growth
Stay abreast of new design trends and technologies
Lead client interactions, understanding and meeting their design needs
Handle all phases of interior design, from programming to construction documentation
Select and present furniture, finishes, and lighting
Produce detailed plans and specifications for construction
Coordinate with external consultants and vendors
Develop test fits for space planning
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school.
15+ years of post-graduation interior design Commercial Interiors Workplace experience
International experience a big plus
NCIDQ certification required
Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software
Excellent communicator
Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and specifications
Excellent graphics and visualization skills to express your ideas
Commitment to sustainable design practices, with experience in projects holding certifications like LEED, WELL, or Net Zero Building

**Compensation is based upon experience and estimated range is $110,000 – $130,000 annually + bonuses + benefits
