Why We're Hiring

Our team is growing and looking for strong support within our creative team. You would work closely with the Brand Partnership design crew and creative leadership to execute client deliverables through approved art direction or treatments and posted across our platforms, within live events or shoots. Our passion around the Complex brand continues to grow through compelling and editorialized visual storytelling. You possess a foundational knowledge of our cultural space, paired with an elevated taste level in line with trends and forecasting what’s next in all things design and graphic. We are looking for a collaborative and positive team member to execute a range of digital, print or merch projects within our work streams and across cross-functional teams. This may include Account, Strategy, Production, Promo, Editorial and Experiential amongst others.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A keen eye for the details including typography, compositions and layout.
  • A finger on the pulse of what’s new in design and culture.
  • Background designing with provided brand guidelines, given assets, graphic language or creating a bespoke graphics kit for any given project.
  • Expertise ideating graphics and the technical motion skills to bring video graphics to life in after effects with given references and a fresh perspective to execution.
  • A solutions-orientated mindset and a track record of multi-tasking in fast paced environments.
  • A demonstrated ability to interpret internal and external creative feedback with a high level of urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Strong collaborator with an elevated sense of graphic design: innovation lens within typography, grid use and hierarchy of information.
  • Proficient in latest Mac software: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Light Room), Google Slides, Figma, ReadyMag; an understanding of UX/UI and any other relevant motion, render software, HTML, CSS is a plus!
  • Impressive, wide-ranging portfolio (brand and editorial).
  • Strong understanding of the Complex brand.
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines and handle quick turnarounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Open to embracing AI if needed (Chat GPT, MidJourney or other relevant composition engines).

What You’ll Do

  • Produce custom graphics, ideate and execute mockups, compositions, and other visual assets.
  • Add motion language and animation to still graphics in preparation for shipping to a video editor.
  • Prep and create graphic packages for motion graphics in post production.
  • Create mood boards and source reference imagery for creative presentations.
  • Collaborate across departments and/or brands and a range of talent tiers.
  • Stay up to date with current design trends and techniques.
  • Work in detail-oriented fashion, delivering high-quality project files according to initial specs and requirements on time and on budget.
  • Catalogue design files in an organized fashion.
  • Make photo selects and draft shot lists for photoshoots.
  • Create photo-realistic mockups for client presentations.
  • Work within web based platforms creating splash pages or microsites.

Who You Are

  • Minimum 5-7 years of design experience preferably in media, advertising, retail/e-commerce, in-house or agency.
  • Well-organized, with strict attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, interpersonal.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Must have strong time management skills and the ability to pivot from project to project.
  • An understanding of branding to continue to build our brand voice.
  • Avid fan of music, fashion, sports, TV / film, social media, and pop culture at large.
  • Ability to create experiential renders, custom fonts, illustrations is a plus.

$100,000 - $120,000 a year

The Pay Range, which consists of salary and commission, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
