2025 Marketing/Community Relations Associate
Louisville Bats Baseball Team:
The Louisville Bats are the Class Triple-A baseball team, affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds, owned and operated by Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) which competes in the International League. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in Minor League Baseball and the sports industry. This role will provide you with a greater understanding of not only Production & Game Entertainment, but a general look at many different aspects, including ticket sales, marketing, radio, media relations, partnerships/sponsors, and customer service.

Job Summary:
The Marketing/Community Relations associate will assist with season-long grassroots marketing campaigns, Mascot appearances, charity jersey auctions, group outings & ticket donations, and other game-day marketing activations as assigned. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, confident and poised in interactions with athletes and fans across various demographics, and is willing to contribute to overall marketing & community outreach initiatives. The Marketing/Community Relations Intern will report to the Director of Marketing and Marketing/Social Media Coordinator
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in building marketing programs to promote team initiatives, events, programs and ticket sales across multiple channels.
- Help develop and execute community events that drive fan engagement and fandom. Manage data capturing during fan events.
- Create and manage recaps of all marketing efforts. Develop best practices and benchmark results against comparable initiatives from other MiLB teams.
- Identify and develop opportunities within the influencer community to promote the team brand and events
- Collaborate with social media team to develop initiatives that drive fan engagement and social conversation
- Assist in developing and posting engaging content to Bats social media platforms
- Assist with game coverage on social media platforms
- Process, fulfill, and track donation requests
- Assist with hands-on marketing and promotional events/tasks
- Coordinate non-game day mascot appearances for charitable or community events
- Regularly, follow up with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, schools, special guests, sponsors, vendors and others both via email and by phone
- Be available during Bats home games to assist with on-field promotions when applicable (Charity of the Game, Little League appearances, live jersey auctions, etc.)
- Brainstorm social media promotions to highlight the Bats brand and maximize revenue
- Process jersey auctions through MLB's official auction site, ship orders, and track final donation total
- Track overall charitable contributions for the 2025 season including staff volunteer hours, total revenue fundraised, number of charitable organizations partnered with, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong working knowledge of the game of baseball
- Bachelor's Degree OR working toward degree
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Photography skills are a plus
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- 20 hours per week - before start of season (2025 season begins Friday, March 28th).
- Max of 35 hours per week during the season
Compensation Options:
•Paid + can accrue class credit hours.
•Housing not provide
