Required hours will include days and may occasionally evenings and weekends as needs arise. This role is for students located in Indianapolis and will be an in-person position.

Job Description
The primary role of the Student Life Marketing Student Intern position is to assist the Director of Marketing, the Senior Communications Strategist and the Student Life Indianapolis team with marketing and communications projects. As a Student Life Student Marketing Intern - Indianapolis, you will play a role in engaging with the student community and promoting department initiatives to this demographic. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced marketing professionals, learn valuable skills, and gain practical hands-on experience in developing and executing creative marketing campaigns. The Student Life Marketing Student Intern should be available to work 8-10 hours per week during the current semester. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor.
Prerequisite(s)
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in marketing and communication process and protocol.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University in Indianapolis
• Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or related field
• Familiarity with social media platforms and their usage trends
• Creative mindset with an eye for design and aesthetics
• Basic understanding of marketing principles and concepts
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexible and dependable with a strong attention to detail
• Problem solving, logic and reasoning skills
• Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a dynamic marketing team
• Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Be timely and organized
• Proficiency in graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc.) is a plus

• Support the design and production of marketing materials such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics
• Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm creative ideas for promotional activities and events
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as design, web, and copywriting, to ensure a consistent brand message
• Research and identify potential partnerships or sponsorships with campus partners or student organizations
• Stay up to date with the latest marketing trends and emerging platforms relevant to the student audience
• Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing initiatives using analytics tools and provide insights for improvement
• Attend regular meetings with supervisor
• Exhibit friendliness, diplomacy, and tact in responding to clients and staff
• Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive information
• Serve and participate on committees within the division to provide feedback from a student lens
• Responsible for all scheduled shifts (based on class/exam schedules for the semester)
• Take on additional tasks or projects as assigned by the supervisor
