About the Role:
The Director of Marketing and Communication leads marketing, audience development, and sales (subscription, single tickets, groups, telemarketing). With a focus on growing new audiences while retaining and deepening relationships with current audiences. This senior management position develops and executes strategies to generate all ticket, tuition, and earned revenue for the theatre. They support the highest strategic priorities of the theater, serve as member of the Theatre's senior leadership team, and works with other senior managers to support a consistent and impactful brand identity that drives sales.
Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to ensure a clean and accurate interpretation of the organization's mission, vision, and values; Collaborate with the Development Department to integrate Institutional Development as an organizational strategy for customer service-driven relationship management in marketing and fundraising efforts, and with the Box Office to increase sales and ensure excellent customer service. Helps to shape public perception of the theatre through the execution of brand identity through print communication, publications, electronic media, digital media, media relations, and public events; Supervise the planning and implementation of all marketing and sales programs, and support public relations, publications, and external communication to raise and build upon a minimum $14 million in earned income through single ticket, season ticket sales, and tuition annually; Manage annual expense budgets of $3M+ in support of marketing, publicity, sales, and graphic design efforts and operations; Works as part of the Senior Management Team on short and long-term strategic issues; Hire, supervise, motivate, and support a strategically focus marketing team including customer service, group sales, graphics and telemarketing, vendors, and consultants to achieve annual and long-range goals; Cultivate an innovative working environment that enables growth in new technology and marketing practices to ensure the Theatre's vitality; Support public relations efforts and develop community ties to further develop the profile of TUTS within the city, state, and national profile; Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Experience in the Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation industry. Experience with digital marketing and social media advertising. Experience managing a large marketing budget. Experience working with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:
