MECHANICAL DESIGNER
Position Summary
Provide mechanical layout and design support for complex electronic systems and
industrial enclosures, using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe PDF and
other software. Produce, release, and update all types of engineering drawings including
fabrication, bills of materials, assembly, and schematics.

Education
Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or commensurate experience

Position Summary

other software. Produce, release, and update all types of engineering drawings including
fabrication, bills of materials, assembly, and schematics.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Create complex engineering design layouts of parts and assemblies from engineering
specifications, component data sheets, schematics, bills of materials (BOM), etc. - Modify released drawings and BOM's via internal Engineering Change Notice process
- Execute judgment concerning dimensioning and tolerance, materials and finish
selections, manufacturing costs, and in general, sound mechanical design practices - Prepare detail manufacturing drawings for fabrication and assembly
- Interface with other engineers, production personnel, and suppliers to achieve product design success
- Assist in training and supervision of junior drafters
- Provide support to Production for solutions to manufacturing problems
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of directly related experience
- Must have excellent knowledge of good engineering drawing practices and be familiar with military and industry standards
- Must be proficient with SolidWorks and be familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe software
- Must have strong organization and communication skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
