Industry leading children's consumer goods company is seeking a Product Designer to work on several brands and categories in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The ideal candidate will be a professional team player that can manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a timely manner, while maintaining the highest level of organization.
To ensure success as a Product Designer, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the toy design and development process. They will also stay informed about current trends in the toy industry as well as seek out burgeoning trends that may inspire new and innovative product lines.

To ensure success as a Product Designer, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the toy design and development process. They will also stay informed about current trends in the toy industry as well as seek out burgeoning trends that may inspire new and innovative product lines.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking product design from concept to production by creating illustrations for concept designs, technical drawings for sampling, and production documents to communicate changes throughout a development process.
- Manage phases of design development with in-house design team
- Prepare presentation boards for licensor & retailer meetings.
- Ensure that design direction complies with all necessary safety, cost, and production parameters.
- Effectively communicate and interact with other departments as it relates to assigned product lines.
- Communicate daily with Asia partners.
- BSA or BFA in Industrial Design or Toy Design
- 3 - 5 years' experience in the toy industry
- Strong sketching ability and presentation skills
- Knowledge of toy development processes including sculpture, model making, rapid prototyping, engineering design, and simple IC development
- Knowledge of toy manufacturing processes including injection molding, rotational molding, blow molding, all decoration processes (spray masks, tampo printing, silk screening), assembly, packing, and shipping
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to travel domestically as well as internationally.
