Job Description/Summary:
WNDU Multimedia, a Gray Television station, is looking for a fluent bilingual Spanish/English speaker/writer with high-energy and creativity, who enjoys generating story ideas, writing to video and performing compelling live shots. The bilingual speaker/writer must be highly proficient in both Spanish and English and is a self-motivated team member who wants to win each day. You would be joining a newsroom that is energetic and thrives on breaking news, severe/disruptive weather and daily investigative digital reporting.
Duties/Responsible for but not limited to the following:
•Must be bilingual in English/Spanish fluently speaking and writing in both languages
•Demonstrate solid writing skills with accuracy and unbiased manner for digital platforms
•Pitch, write and publish digital content and daily pursuit of investigative reporting as Multi-Media Journalist for the WNDU website and social media to build a following audience
•Willingness do whatever is needed to meet deadlines
•Experience as go-live in the field, shooting as one-person Multi-Media Journalist
•Ability to develop lasting relationships with community members
•Must be a good newsroom citizen and team player
Qualifications/Requirements:
•College Degree B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in Journalism or equivalent experience
•Must demonstrate strong English to Spanish translation experience
•Fluently speaking and writing Spanish Language (native level)
•Proficient in English writing and speaking
•Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
•Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record
•Must work on-site in the South Bend, Indiana WNDU newsroom
•Must demonstrate daily compelling story-telling abilities as a Multi-Media Journalist in pitching, digital writing and go-live platforms.
