What You Will Do

The Commercial Service Writer will provide timely and effective follow up to all pending and recommended work noted by service technicians. Quoting service repair jobs as needed and gaining approval from the client, including gathering the appropriate materials and labor to develop a sales price according to the company pricing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Quote service repair jobs as needed and obtain approval from customers.
  • Order parts as needed, as parts are received pull service order and have dispatcher schedule work.
  • Securing work for the service department, revenue generation.
  • Follow up on all pending and recommended work as quoted by department.
  • Research necessary parts cost and availability needed to prepare service quotes.
  • Forward approved repairs to service dispatcher with correct materials and labor requirements for scheduling.
  • Maintain list of parts availability by vendor.
  • Educate and inform customers of additional services and products available.
  • Assist clients in prioritizing needed repairs.
  • Assist service technicians to generate repair prices as needed while on site.
  • Customer service.
  • Process urgent service repair quotes with in 24 hours of discovery by service technician.
  • Process non-urgent service repair quotes with in 48 hours of discover by service technician.
  • Gain approval from service manager on non-standard repair quotes. (Or Specific $ Amount)
  • Maintain pending / recommended work log.
  • Estimate equipment replacement quotes for in house accounts as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Schedule
  • 7:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, some weeknights and weekends
Requirements
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required,
  • Computer skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two years related experience and/or training in customer service, billing, estimating or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Organized
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in written format.
