Professional Position Details: The Opportunity: Become a key player in the Learning & Media Design team at Washington State University's Global Campus as a Global Campus Media Designer! In this crucial position, you will spearhead teaching innovation by utilizing academic technologies in both online and blended courses. Your creativity and teamwork will be at the forefront as you create captivating multimedia content that boosts educational initiatives and improves course delivery. Key responsibilities include designing and developing media assets in partnership with faculty and instructional designers, coordinating and managing video production from consultation to final editing, exploring new technologies for effective media integration, ensuring all media is accessible and copyright-compliant, promoting open-source materials in academic courses, and providing training and support for faculty to boost student engagement and learning outcomes. Key Responsibilities: • Multimedia Content Creation: Oversee the entire digital content and video production process, ensuring effective communication of key messages. • Pedagogical Alignment: Ensure content aligns with best practices in online education, incorporating modern instructional design theories. • Content Revision and Enhancement: Regularly update and transform traditional teaching materials into engaging, media-rich formats. • Quality Assurance: Maintain high quality standards for all digital learning materials, ensuring error-free and visually appealing content. • Compliance & Regulations: Support the goal of helping faculty understand how to ensure their content complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and copyright regulations related to media elements. • Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with faculty and instructional designers to implement and support instructional technologies. • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing learning to stay updated on best practices in technology-mediated instruction. • Travel: up to 10% annually. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, computer science or related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in instructional design and/or instructional technology such as audio/visual, learning management systems, multimedia, video production or IT resources. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
