Description

The Director, Event Content & Speakers is responsible for elevating ReMA's event programming to position the association as the premier thought leader in the recycled materials industry. Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Events, this role will lead the development of innovative event content and speaker acquisition for ReMA's webinars, workshops, and conferences. The Director will also explore and establish partnerships with media outlets and other industry stakeholders to enhance visibility and impact.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Leads the effort to develop exciting online and in-person event content, programming and speakers for ReMA events in coordination with member volunteers and staff.
  • Books and confirms speakers for ReMA events including presentation coordination, travel (if needed), registration, and any special requests/handling needs
  • Sources outside of the association's traditional speaker roster to develop fresh expertise and new content for ReMA webinars, workshops and member events.
  • Coordinates with ReMA subject-matter experts, member leadership, and other sources, for ideas/content and develop recommendations for what ReMA should consider developing.
  • Oversees the content development lifecycle for various event formats, including webinars, instgructorf-led courses, and conferences. Ensures timely delivery and seamless coordination.
  • Manages the programming schedule for ReMA's flag-ship annual convention. Coordinates topics, tracks, speakers and session schedules with stakeholders.
  • Plans & Executes programming for smaller conferences and workshops held throughout the year.
  • Develops standardized evaluation processes to measure performance, ascertain satisfaction with existing events, and help to assesses the future needs of ReMA members.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates a database of industry thought-leaders and speakers for future engagement.
  • Manages relationships with contractors involved with content development and speakers.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of existing content and develops strategies to increase member engagement and adoption.
  • Represents ReMA at events to ensure smooth execution, address on-site needs and gathers attendee feedback.
  • Serves as staff liaison to ReMA Education & Training Committee.


Requirements

  • 2 years' experience procuring and booking speakers and subject matter experts for a news operation or content delivery at in-person and digital events.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; organization, prioritization, and analytical skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage complexity.
  • Results-driven and resourceful, with the ability to deliver in short timelines with limited resources.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, managing and setting clear and well-defined expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable delivering presentations to both small and large audiences upon request.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changes schedules while remain flexible and maintaining composure.
  • Comfortable with up to 25% business travel annually to attend meetings and events as directed.


Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience producing in-person and/or digital event content/speaking engagements for large conferences, conventions, or news outlets.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while demonstrating professionalism under pressure.
  • Thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle concurrent projects from conception to completion.
  • Must have exceptional skills in editing documents, memos, and spreadsheets; experience using Office 365 and other office computer systems is desired.
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.


Working Conditions
  • Salary range for this position is between $110k- $130k.
  • Some travel and public speaking will be required. General office work environment.
