About the Role:
We are seeking a Retail Design Specialist to join our team, providing architectural planning and design direction under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Retail Design. In this role, you will assist with conceptual design ideation and development, produce design deliverables for Real Estate, Leasing, and Operations teams, and contribute valuable input to enhance the company’s asset portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the design and functionality of our retail spaces.

- Architectural Vision & Direction: Provide architectural vision and direction for capital improvements and developments under the supervision of the Manager, Retail Design, and VP, Design and Construction.
- Research & Trend Analysis: Research new retail design concepts and trends; identify opportunities for implementation within the company's portfolio.
- Built Environment Evaluation: Evaluate the current built environment and recommend improvements for enhanced functionality and aesthetics.
- Design Direction & Support: Lead design direction and support for property renovations, mall activation areas, and other company-wide initiatives.
- Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with corporate and field teams to implement design concepts effectively.
- Project Partnership: Partner with Real Estate, Leasing, and Operations on construction projects to meet departmental and company goals.
- Team Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration among internal and external teams and contribute to design-related meetings.
- Construction & Tenant Coordination: Work with Construction and Tenant Coordination on constructability, scheduling, budgeting, and expenses.
- Design-Related Project Input: Contribute to various architectural design-related projects as assigned.
- Visual Communication: Create visual collateral, including sketches, 3D renderings, and photo presentations to communicate ideas.
- Software & Resource Utilization: Utilize software platforms and work with CAD resources to generate drawings and deliverables.
- Standards & Procedures: Uphold company standards, policies, and procedures throughout the design process.
- Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with all relevant parties on scope, budgets, project status, and completion dates.
- You possess a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related fields. Licenses and/or certificates in the field of architecture and construction is preferred.
- You have a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in the field of project management, industrial design, or architecture. Direct experience within shopping center design and development is preferred.
- You communicate your ideas clearly through drawings, presentations, and other deliverables.
- You plan, organize, and manage resources to achieve project goals within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- You take ownership and accountability for the outcomes of your projects.
- You generate in-house design concepts and create presentations to support project initiatives.
- You work with consultants and review architectural drawings and submittals to ensure alignment with project goals.
- You apply your knowledge of retail construction and development processes to support successful project execution.
- You demonstrate excellent organization and project management skills, ensuring that all details are handled efficiently.
- You use company-issued software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint, MRI Job Cost) proficiently to support your work.
- You effectively utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, SketchUp, Revit) to generate drawings, renderings, and other project collateral.

- You are able to travel via commercial airlines and maintain a valid driver's license to operate your own vehicle or rental car in a safe manner. This position requires up to 30% travel.

Hiring Range Disclaimer
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual pay rate will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees.
Hiring Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year
