The Donor Relations Assistant will provide administrative, event, and logistical support to the six-member Development Department and facilitate our donor communication and stewardship through the busy summer festival season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn about the inner workings of a strong development team and offers experience in affinity group communications, donor recognition, and stewardship.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Coordinating stewardship efforts between scholarship donors and recipients (thank you letters, meetings, reports)
  • Assist with summer-long donor recognition activities for individual and corporate donors
  • Assist with communication and scheduling for our Student Ambassador Program
  • Fielding calls from donors and other constituents.
  • Assisting with data entry in Raiser's Edge
  • Assisting with online prospect research for potential individual and corporate donors
  • Support Development events throughout the summer, with responsibilities including attendee check-in, helping with event flow, and other duties as assigned. Events may include donor and other group meetings and receptions, Season- and Opera Benefits, and Campaign events
  • Coordinate and manage the Development Department's summer event volunteers
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Hired candidate is required to attend virtual pre-season training in May (scheduled based on availability).


Requirements

  • Candidate must be 21+ in order to pour alcohol, and be willing to take a TIPS certification course
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Have some background or interest in non-profit development
  • Be proactive and anticipate needs especially during high volume periods
  • Work well both independently and within a team
  • Be able to manage high-stress situations
  • Be extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite
  • Have experience working in CRM or donor databases, Raiser's Edge is a plus
  • Be able to lift up to 25+ lbs. (cases of wine)
  • have a personal vehicle for the duration of the summer (mandatory).

Dates

June 11, 2024-August 27, 2024

Paid virtual pre-season training in May (scheduled based on availability)

Compensation

$12.50/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $4.91/hour depending on location.) Overtime $22.22/hour.

Pre-season training pay rate is $14.81/hour

The overall non-local compensation for this position, including hourly pay ($12.50/hour) and housing ($4.91/hour), exceeds the 2024 Colorado minimum wage of $14.81.

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
