Description

POSITION SCOPE

Primary operational contact to AMP Distribution Clients and act as their in-house monitor for meta data, vendor compliance requirements, shipping of product to distribution warehouses, allocation and distribution of product to customers, stock transfers and publisher withdrawal orders.

Act as chief liaison between Simon & Schuster and all AMP Departments to manage the prioritization, allocation, and release of all Distributed Lines products to S&S, our warehouse distributor, ensuring shipments to all customers meet deadlines.

Act as the Operations contact for all Custom Publishing Projects and Special Sale Direct Bindery Shipments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as main contact for and provide customer service support to sales management and client publishing partners.
  • Review all client product data for accuracy, and monitor change files to maintain data integrity in Title Management.
  • Review, verify and Manage Territory rights in Title Management and for all S&S systems.
  • Obtain and enter projected demand and publisher withdrawal orders to ensure product availability for client's needs, including author copies and buybacks.
  • Track all publisher withdrawal orders and create/update publisher withdrawal log to provide a shipment record of freight costs to client and to AMP accounting for billing.
  • Review weekly calendar report to monitor demand and inventory levels and provide input to Sales and Client to determine print quantities.
  • Monitor production schedules and On-Sale dates to ensure inventory arrives on time and On-Sale dates are accurate.
  • Work in coordination with Director and Manager of Demand Planning, and S&S, to coordinate the allocation, reserves, and weekly release of calendar backorders, as well as direct from bindery shipments.
  • Understand clients reporting expectations and arrange automated reports, and/or provide weekly reporting on demand.
  • Coordinate with sales department, Accounting, and S&S to facilitate and manage onboarding or exit of Distribution Clients. Act as primary contact with client's operations personnel and provide Routing Guides and compliance needs to ensure all inventory arrives compliant and ready to sell. Manage final order deadlines, transfer of inventory, change of product status and any communication required upon exit of client.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • General competence with Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Some general knowledge of overseas shipping is beneficial
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Applied comprehension, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making - be an advocate for our clients while maintain company business principles
  • Effectively interact and build relationships with distribution partners and internal management teams.
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, articulate team player.
  • Required to work onsite three days a week (with a training period where 5 days in-office is required).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the content area of consumer goods, customer service, or relevant field of study.
  • Minimum of three years related work experience.
  • Manufacturing and distribution experience a plus
