Global Medical Writing Intern Looking for College Education levels (JR, SR, Masters, Doctorate) Majors: Science (life/physical/environmental), biology

Internship Start Datee 05/19/2025-08/01/2025 Must be able to attend first day in person

UCB is looking for a science-driven, upper-level undergraduate or graduate student to intern with Global Medical Writing from May 19th through August 1st, 2025 (flexible dates/hours dependent upon school or work schedules). Students must have an interest in clinical research, regulatory writing, quality control, neuroscience, immunology, rare disease, statistics, or medicine. Global Medical Writing contributes to the global clinical development of innovative medicines for the treatment of patients with severe and rare diseases by delivering high-quality, scientifically-sound, and timely clinical and submission-related documents. If you are interested in medicine, clinical research, and/or regulatory submission writing, an internship with UCB will give you meaningful insights into the process of obtaining drug and biologic approval from regulatory agencies. This is a very exciting opportunity for a young scientist, regardless of experience, to work alongside medical writers and medical writing specialists as part of an integrated project team.

About the Project Responsibilities may include: Providing support to teams producing clinical documents for regulatory submissions Authoring straightforward clinical documents Performing quality control reviews on clinical documents Populating data summary tables from statistical outputs Conducting literature reviews Learning objectives include: Identifying various clinical document types and understanding their regulatory purpose Practicing the fundamentals of medical writing and quality control for clinical documents Building a foundation of knowledge in regulatory affairs and clinical submission activities Gaining scientific and business acumen through exposure to various functions with UCB’s matrix organization

Qualifications

About You Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student studying life sciences, physical sciences, or biomedical engineering Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, thorough, and methodical General knowledge of scientific research and statistics Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
