Internship Dates May 19 - August 1 MUST be onsite May 19th College Education Level - Junior, Senior The U.S. Corporate Communications team is focused on growing awareness of UCB and our commitment to elevating patients with internal and external stakeholders through effective communications and public relations strategies. Our team works cross-functionally across the organization, closely aligning with Global Corporate Communications to deliver strategic, unified, and impactful communications. Our Summer Internship Program is a paid full-time learning experience (May-August) where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a growing biopharma company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily interactions and job assignments. In addition, you will be engaged in important projects and initiatives within the communications scope, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees across our global offices. The U.S. Corporate Communications team develops and implements necessary communications targeting both internal and external audiences. The Communications Summer Intern will support the team with developing written materials (Intranet articles, blog posts, employee newsletter content, etc.), onsite employee engagement events, and digital content creation, among other projects. Opportunities in this area can include: Communications - Review and edit materials for content and errors, develop creative material in support of the organization's communications strategies. Plan, develop, and publish internal and external communications, including PowerPoint presentations, creative content postings for the internal digital signage network, articles for the company intranet and blog, and internal emails to employees Digital Content Management - ensures that the organization's intranet (known as Plaza and built on a Sharepoint platform) and internal email marketing software provide up-to-date and comprehensive information that is easily available to employees. Assist with pulling metrics and other measurement to gauge the effectives of internal and external communications efforts This internship offers experiences across in-house engagement and communications in the biopharmaceutical industry, including writing for different audiences, understanding internal and external communication channels, and leveraging digital platforms. Our company is working on exciting new developments and will offer a solid education to interns of all levels. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals interested in a communications career with an interest in healthcare. A laptop and other resources necessary to support the work will be provided. This paid internship is currently expected to run from mid-May and continue through August 2025; subject to changes in the program plan, we expect to hire an Intern on a part-time basis estimated at 10-40 hours per week on a flexible basis. The US Corporate Communications internship is a direct line to a future role with UCB or one of UCB’s communication agency partners. The U.S. Corporate Communications team has hired a past intern for a full time position at UCB and helped place two UCB corporate communications interns with UCB agency partners. These interns actively work on the UCB business for their agency employers. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Upper-level undergraduate studying communications, business, social media marketing, journalism or English Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, thorough, and methodical Familiarity with Microsoft suite and Canva General knowledge of communications strategies and tactics Specific Skills: ☒Excel ☒PowerPoint ☒Word ☒Outlook ☒Communication and writing skills ☒Presentation Skills ☒Canva and other graphic design
