Behance, Miami, FL, United States, 33222
Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT is hiring a Junior Graphic Designer to join the Marketing & Creative team! This is a full-time, on-site employee at the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL. We are seeking someone with interest and experience in crafting for print and digital media and must be able to craft within the constraints of the brand identity and maintain consistency of design across each medium.
The Junior Graphic Designer will be an integral member of the Creative team, assisting in developing and producing high-quality visual assets across various platforms. This role involves collaborating closely with designers, art directors, and other team members to ensure the successful implementation of design projects, from concept to final implementation. A proven willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute creatively is essential for growing in this position. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated designer eager to grow their skills and make an impact in a fast-paced, multifaceted work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.
- Collaborate with a Cross-Functional Design Team: Work closely with a team of designers to ensure seamless collaboration on projects. Adapt quickly to changing priorities, provide constructive feedback, and actively engage in receiving feedback to maintain a high standard of design quality. Consistently uphold brand guidelines and ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule, meeting both design and branding standards.
- Create and Manage Design Assets Across Multiple Channels: Handle the creation, population, editing, and organization of design files throughout the production lifecycle — from initial concept to final release. Use Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) to work with a variety of assets, including photography, product images, type, logos, apparel designs, and other graphic elements, under the direction of senior creative staff.
- Maintain and Update Design Files: Regularly update design files, ensuring that new assets are integrated and outdated ones are replaced as needed during the course of a project. This includes version control and tracking changes to ensure consistency and accuracy across all assets.
- Work Within Established Workflow and Version Control Systems: Follow established workflows and adhere to version control protocols to manage design assets efficiently across multiple servers. This ensures that all team members have access to the most current versions and that files are organized and easy to retrieve.
- Handle Urgent Design Requests: Respond quickly and efficiently to inevitable last-minute design requests, prioritizing "rush jobs" while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Assist with Game Day Visual Content and Design: Provide real-time creative support on game days, including photo editing, branded/sponsored posts, and pre-and post-game assets.
- Prepare Design Files for Production: Ensure all design files are prepared for both print and digital production. This includes making sure that all artwork is print-ready (with correct specifications for color, resolution, and layout) and optimized for web use (with the appropriate file formats and compression settings).
Education and/or Experience
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is required, providing a strong foundation in design principles, creative thinking, and technical skills.
- Relevant Professional Experience: 1-2 years of professional experience in a design, production, or creative role, focusing on both digital and print media. While professional experience is preferred, consideration will also be given to candidates with relevant internship experience who can demonstrate strong skills for design and production processes.
