Overview
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for daily operational tasks within the global Network and Data Center team, across several technologies such as Cisco and Palo Alto. Daily tasks will include performing system health checks, ensuring clean and tidy IT rooms, and managing the ITSM queues for incidents and requests, along with project delivery support. The role is expected to build relationships within all IT service user towers and interact with senior-level stakeholders globally regarding technical requirements and delivery, as well as associated infrastructure needs both BAU and project-wise.

The Senior Network Engineer will update and mature infrastructure processes and documentation to ensure reliable and compliant network infrastructure and partner with team members to create ITKBs that will help drive incident resolution by the ServiceDesk. The Senior Network Engineer will manage daily onsite tasks within the data center, general campus network infrastructure, and participate as an active member of the global network and data center team. The Senior Network Engineer will also take part in an on-call rotation with the rest of the team as required.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead the day-to-day support and availability of the FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas network Infrastructure, including building, configuring, administering, and supporting network infrastructure technologies and solutions.
- Maintain technical network documentation.
- Provide project support to help drive local and global IT initiatives.
- Work with FDB technical architects to define and translate architectural designs into operational delivered solutions and services.
- Act as the technical lead for support, availability, and monitoring of the network infrastructure.
- Brief and advise senior IT management on technology support and availability needs, producing solution documents and reports.
- Mentor peers and help build IT/OT technical solutions within the organization on a global perspective, ensuring secure by design methodology.
- Perform cross-functional, multidisciplinary technical support, including evaluation and delivery of project work packages, design requirements, and associated procedures related to enterprise-level IT/OT systems.
- Collaborate with the global network team to mature the network platform at the FDBT site.
Background and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology; or relevant technical certifications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Cisco switching and routing, Cisco Meraki, Cisco wireless, and Palo Alto Firewalls or equivalent technologies.
- Proven experience with ServiceNow or other ITIL tools.
- Proven experience with SNMP monitoring tools.
- Proven experience in server room/IT room management.
- Experience in a GMP regulated environment is desired.
The Senior Network Engineer will work within the broader Digital Technologies organization to help drive IT/OT alignment being rolled out globally. In this role, you will be required to interact with FDB vendors to ensure solutions are secure and always meet the business technical requirements. You will also provide technical input for external and internal audits about IT designs and services. The Senior Network Engineer will require the ability to make, advise, and drive decisions based on information gathered and assessed, in consultation with IT and business leadership.
