Duties and Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate advertising agency agreements, influencer contracts, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying agreements.
- Review advertising copy for compliance with false advertising laws, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity issues.
- Provide legal counsel on compliance with contest and sweepstakes regulations.
- Advise on price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.
- Handle disputes about false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies.
- Stay updated on current trends and changes in advertising and marketing law.
- Conduct legal research and provide detailed, actionable recommendations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiating various types of marketing agreements.
- Experience with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes is highly desirable.
- Ability to review and assess advertising materials for legal compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent academic credentials and outstanding legal writing and communication skills.
- Experience in a large or medium law firm setting is preferred.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar in Arizona or eligibility for admission.
Certifications
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar.
