Lowe’s seeks a creative, solutions-minded candidate to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment for a role that will support critical marketing, advertising, and charitable partnership workstreams to drive the company’s continued success as an omni-channel retailer. The primary purpose of this role is to identify legal risks and execute a mitigation plan by understanding legal issues and translating them into easily understood and practical legal advice and counsel to applicable client group, while driving desired business outcomes. This includes responsibility for managing, negotiating, drafting and overseeing a variety of complex and cutting-edge transactional deals and agreements and advising on various customer programs and consumer laws.
Your Impact
The position will:
- Review, draft, negotiate and provide business-focused legal advice with respect to a wide variety of marketing, advertising, and charitable and community partnership transactions and contracts.
- Establish and update agreement forms.
- Conduct legal research.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on advertising and consumer law issues impacting the business.
- Develop, draft, or review sweepstakes, giveaways, and similar customer programs’ terms.
- Help develop, enhance, and maintain customer loyalty, discount, and pricing programs.
- Support client groups by providing practical legal advice and recommendations on day-to-day legal issues.
- Work with outside legal counsel and orchestrate legal processes on behalf of the company.
- Conduct legal research and apply research to facts.
- Identify legal risks and design plans to mitigate and prevent routine legal risks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements and documents.
- Participate in preparing and delivering training, memorandums, and presentations on legal matters.
- Collaborate on complex projects and support others in the Legal Department.
- Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master's Degree in Law and/or Juris Doctor degree.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in a top-tier law firm or mixture of relevant experience in top-tier law firm, corporate legal department setting, and/or government agency.
- Active state bar member in good standing of at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 1+ years of experience with public company legal issues, processes and procedures.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- In-house legal department experience, in-house retail or advertising agency legal department experience, or retail or advertising agency legal experience.
