SUMMARY: Halfway between Seattle & Portland. Bicoastal Media’s KELA/ KMNT Radio in Centralia, WA seeks a talented on-air individual with good voice and writing skills. Bonus pay for play-by-play sports announcing, earning up to $10,000 additional pay a year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all guidelines, policies, and procedures of the station, Bicoastal Media, and the FCC.
  • Assist clients in the creation of copy and production content. Implement commercial productions.
  • Conduct sports play-by-play and/or personal appearances/remotes.
  • Ensure programming is consistent and appropriate for respective formats.
  • Generate increased ratings by being entertaining, informative, and community-oriented.
  • Interact with listeners via phones, social media, video, website, and on-site appearances.
  • Maintain a positive attitude & interact professionally with listeners, clients, and co-workers.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop upcoming promotions, events, and contest concepts.
  • Work assigned shifts on-air, occasional live and/or voice tracked.
  • Write and produce daily news and sportscasts.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year radio broadcasting experience, preferred.
  • 1 year sports announcing experience, preferred.

EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. This position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Job may require lifting or moving up to 20 lbs.

Position Type

Full-time position.

Duties

Work days are typically 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Some duties may fall outside of normal everyday hours for remote broadcasts and other station functions.
