BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the area Manager, creates multimedia artwork that spans television, internet, interface design for interactive CD/DVD and kiosks, DVD authoring, and print work in direct support of the library and instructors throughout Riverside Community College District.

EDUCATION:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in graphics or a related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years directly related experience, which includes two years of experience in computer graphics, is required.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Video production, visual presentations; and advanced knowledge in computer graphic systems are required.

ABILITY TO:

Visualize concepts and present drawings of shared ideas.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  1. Conceptualizes artwork for various multimedia projects for Academic Departments; ensures that the materials created coincide with either lesson material or other needs of the instructors.
  2. Establishes project schedules to ensure on-time completion.
  3. Researches hardware equipment, peripheral equipment, and software for potential Departmental usage.
  4. Selects and buys software with the approval of the Division Head or Designee.
  5. Executes artwork for a variety of District projects.
  6. Performs video production from concept to post-production.
  7. Ability to operate a variety of multimedia equipment including computers, scanners, digital cameras, video cameras, NLE or Linear editing systems, drawing tablets, and printers.
  8. Participates in District-provided in-service training programs.
  9. Maintains a friendly, supportive atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
  10. Performs other duties related to the position, as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY:

Salary grades consist of nine steps. A new employee is normally placed on Step 1 of the grade. Changes in step placement take place on the first day of the first month following the anniversary date of attaining permanent classified employee status until the maximum of the grade is reached.

HOLIDAYS:

There are 13 holidays observed each year. A pro-rata reduction will be made for employees working less than full-time and less than twelve months.

VACATION:

Employees are granted 12 days of vacation per year through the first five years of service to the District; 15 days after completion of five continuous years of service; 20 days after completion of ten continuous years; and 22 days after completion of 15 continuous years. This computation is based on full-time, twelve-month employment.

SICK LEAVE:

One day of sick leave for each month of service is granted. There is no limit to the number of days of sick leave which may be accrued.

FRINGE BENEFITS:

The District provides a health and welfare benefit package for employees and legal qualifying dependents.
