Your Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Environmental Services Engagement Manager, the CW is part investigative journalist, part storyteller, with excellent communication skills. The position plays a key role in supporting content marketing strategies and employee communications for Environmental Services.
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Content Development – Copywriting & Editing
- Develop, implement, and analyse content marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, web traffic, social media engagement, and media coverage.
- Strategize with Environmental Services Strategic Pursuits (ESSP) colleagues to plan, create, and publish content on various media channels.
- Work in partnership with SEO, Graphic Design, and Digital Marketing professionals to ensure alignment with campaign goals.
- Create high-performing content to grow audiences while increasing positive brand sentiment.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations (MCPR) colleagues.
- Leverage innovative storytelling to engage with existing and new audiences.
Collaboration/Brainstorming
- Embrace a collaborative work environment and meet with Public Relations Leads to establish priorities.
- Participate in ESSP team meetings to discuss content initiatives and brainstorm sessions.
Marketing System Support/Leadership
- Use the Stantec Marketing Knowledge Center (SMKC) to achieve effectiveness in marketing-related projects.
- Assist in the development and coordination of regional content for Stantec's communications systems.
Employee Engagement
- Craft engaging and informative internal communications content.
- Support the larger goals of MCPR colleagues in engaging practitioners in promotional activities.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Post-secondary degree in environmental science, communications, public relations, English, journalism, or marketing.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or professional writing role.

- Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills.
- Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent interviewing, writing, and verbal communication skills.
