Could you be the full-time onsite IT-Security & Communication Specialist in Jamaica, NY, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your advanced IT and electronics expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, collaborative, and dedicated teammates. You'll be instrumental in managing the installation of digital Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), audio (PA) and visual systems (PI) to maintain a secure and safe transportation system. This position repairs a wide variety of electronics equipment including computer-based systems, security alarm systems, fiber optics (troubleshot) and audio systems.

We’ll look to you for:

  1. Produce the required reports and use Maximo platform to streamline the process for preventative and corrective maintenance.
  2. Support and define proof of concepts for APM IT Security Projects as per best known industrial standards.
  3. Support the different stakeholders in the business unit to accelerate the results of the proof of concept and rollouts.
  4. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information being processed, stored, accessed, or transmitted on the network.
  5. Develop, automate, and support dashboards and database creation for reliability.
  6. Document system problems and resolutions for future reference.
  7. Participate in audits of the company's information technology infrastructure by external organizations.
  8. Participate in and contribute to the planning and execution of business continuity and backup, disaster recovery capabilities.
  9. Provide technical support in researching, identifying, evaluating, recommending and/or developing information security systems, controls, methods, techniques, and models.
  10. Contribute to the organization, processes, teams, and product in a significant manner.
  11. Install, configure, maintain, and manage networking devices, servers, storage, and operating systems.
  12. Evaluate and/or recommend procurement of network-related devices, servers, storage systems, peripheral equipment, and software.
  13. Investigate problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test, and implement solutions.
  14. Support with system problems from identification to resolution across different departments, employees and/or systems.
  15. Work independently, and as a team member.
  16. Exhibit initiative and drive to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  17. Maintain site critical communication system and work closely with the service provider to keep the system up to date.
  18. Display leadership qualities, take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  19. Able to prioritize based on criticality.
  20. Perform related duties as assigned by management.
  21. Pass all associated quizzes and tests such as Rule Book, Safety and other necessary trainings.
  22. Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and training requirements.


All about you

  1. Bachelor of Science in either Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or related field.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in access control and CCTV.
  3. At least one year of work experience that includes testing and commissioning of digital audio and visual communication recording systems.
  4. Experience in solving complex technical problems that occur in electronic communication equipment.
  5. Able to use hand tools and power tools.
  6. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  7. Expert knowledge of Microsoft O365-Modern Workplace is desired, especially PowerApps, PowerBI, Power Automate and Azure DevOps.
  8. Knowledge of IBM Maximo would be considered an asset.
  9. Knowledge with industrial network enterprise devices (i.e. Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and servers).
  10. Knowledge in systems monitoring and management in a high-availability data center environment.
  11. Required to have a valid license in accordance with New York State Motor Vehicle Laws.
  12. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  13. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
