Position Summary

The Content Creator is responsible for developing photo, video and written content for internal and external communications that promote Lexicon and its companies and divisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, track, and publish content on Lexicon’s internal and external platforms.
  • Create appropriate content for channels including, but not limited to social media, press releases, paid advertising, blogs, web content, email marketing, collateral materials, white papers, presentations, proposals, and more.
  • Leverage and repurpose existing content to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Own and optimize use of the company’s Digital Asset Management system.
  • Propose and draft communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other media.
  • Proofread, edit, and elevate content produced within the company.
  • Stay current on content, social, and digital trends as it relates to our business.
  • Identify and suggest new ways to reach target audiences with meaningful and relevant content.
  • Develop internal and external contacts and resources to maximize volume and quality of content.
  • Maintain, promote and safeguard the Lexicon brand and graphic standards in all areas of communication.
  • Work with outside vendors (designers, photographers, videographers, editors) as needed to create engaging multi-media content for all channels.
  • Work with the Sales Team to understand their needs and assist in preparing proposals and collateral materials.
  • Assist in selecting and ordering branded merchandise to be sold on the company’s LexGear site and distributed via other channels.
  • Present marketing and communications ideas and recommendations to the marketing director.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the marketing director.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, English or related field.

Minimum of two years’ experience in a related capacity.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills that may include public speaking and presentations.

Excellent copywriting, editing, and proof-reading skills.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Proficient with Microsoft Suite or related software.

Experience in website editing with WordPress, content marketing, photography, and videography.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.

Some overnight travel.
