Position Summary: As the Content Marketing Manager, you will contribute to a dynamic and cohesive marketing team dedicated to advancing our mission and fostering meaningful connections with students, staff, and partners. You will collaborate closely with the Collegiate Marketing Manager to elevate our brand through compelling photo, video, and written content. You will play a crucial role in shaping our media relations and branding initiatives, while also overseeing additional key responsibilities. Your role is a dynamic blend of creativity and strategy, making a lasting impact on AFA's brand and mission.

Your Primary Functions:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with our overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure synergy with collegiate marketing efforts.
  2. Create engaging photo, video, and written content that resonates with the target audience, highlighting our initiatives and capturing the essence of student experiences.
  3. Oversee the production and curation of multimedia content for various channels, including social media, emails, the AFA website, and other relevant platforms.
  4. Act as the guardian of our brand identity, ensuring consistency and cohesiveness across all content and communication channels.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create engaging and visually compelling event collateral, including signage, promotional materials, and multimedia content, enhancing our brand visibility and recognition during various occasions.
  6. Manage the Magnetic Ag newsletter, coaching a collective of contractors to craft compelling content to engage and inform a wide-ranging agricultural industry audience.
  7. Elevate thought leadership initiatives, positioning our organization as an industry authority through strategic content creation, industry partnerships, and speaking engagements.
  8. Spearhead the marketing of our fundraising campaigns, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive financial support for AFA's initiatives and programs.
  9. Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  10. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content marketing, incorporating innovative approaches into our strategy.
  11. Coordinate efforts to enhance our organizational presence in the media landscape, managing our media contact database and assisting in securing opportunities for interviews, features, and thought leadership.
  12. Ability to foster collaboration, influence others, and build trust with internal teams and external partners.
  13. Creative and analytical thinker, proficient in tracking the performance of various communications activities yet possess a unique ability to think creatively about marketing communications opportunities and challenges.
  14. Outstanding writer that has a knack for presenting ideas in a clear manner that even the least knowledgeable stakeholder can understand.
  15. Solid presentation skills with the ability to confidently share plans and influence peers and management on marketing communications priorities.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
  • Digital and event marketing experience
  • Video and social media content production and editing
  • 5+ years of marketing experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Involvement in or working knowledge of agriculture and food industry
  • Donor and alumni marketing

Supervisory Responsibility: This position may involve the supervision of staff.

Because travel is frequent and this role represents our organization at other conferences, the ability to transport personal belongings and organizational promotional materials for travel, with reasonable accommodation, is necessary.

Position Type/Regular Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel: Some out-of-area and overnight travel is expected to AFA events throughout the year and on weekends. Travel is not expected to exceed 10%.
