Elicit is making our first marketing hire! We’re looking for a product & content marketer to level up existing acquisition channels and identify key user personas.
Elicit has grown entirely by word of mouth to a few hundred thousand MAUs. 4 months after launching subscriptions, we hit $1 million in ARR. The next step is to define personas and use cases to dive deep into. While Elicit has broad appeal today, the next phase of product development will focus on providing a superior last mile experience for high-value workflows. We want to be able to say “For Person X doing Y, Elicit is objectively the best tool in the world by 10x.”

About the role
You will:
- Scale up acquisition & engagement channels that already work: emails, social media content (created by both us & others), word of mouth, SEO/search, and community engagement.
- Use content marketing to test and flesh out our ideal customer profile & use cases.
- Iterate on in-app messaging & copywriting.
- Depending on your interest, the role can grow over time to include:
- Product-driven acquisition flows (e.g. in-app referral flows, sharing & collaboration workflows).
- Launching new acquisition channels.
- Elicit’s overall content strategy, including recruiting & employer brand and sales support.
About you
Level of experience:
Around P4 described here, which roughly means senior individual contributor. We’re expecting 8+ years of product and/or content marketing experience at a fast-growing software company.
We’re open to more senior people as well.
Skills we’ll be looking for in the interview process (required):
- Strong verbal communication & listening: A big part of your job will involve talking to users to understand what they’re not saying, what they don’t know they need. You need to be a strong, empathetic listener that understands people better than they understand themselves. You’ll have to ask great questions.
- Logical & clear thinking: Elicit is a tool with broad appeal & use cases. Today, everyone from high school students to university professors to drug discovery scientists use it for their work. You’ll have to think clearly about how we should best segment our users without getting lost in analysis paralysis.
- Execution & experimental approach: Half of your job will be distilling insights from users to come up with good user profiles, workflows, and messages. The other half will be iterating on these hypotheses using marketing channels.
Experiences we’re looking for (strongly preferred but not required):
- Similar products (complex workflow tools with broad appeal, “consumer-grade enterprise tech”) e.g. Airtable, WebFlow, Figma, Notion.
- Similar go-to-market strategies (consumer/prosumer and PLG into enterprise) e.g. Dropbox, Slack, Github, Linear.
- Similar stages e.g. ideal customer profile discovery after initial product-market fit, early stage, first marketing hire.
- Academic research experience, especially in STEM or empirical social science.
You don’t need to have all of these experiences. Any subset of them is great.

For all roles at Elicit, we use a data-backed compensation framework to make sure our salaries are market-competitive, equitable, and simple. For this role, we're targeting a range of $150,000-$170,000, depending on level and competencies that impact the scope of your role.
