Position Summary: The Editor reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. This role serves as the specialist in editing and technical writing for copy development and maintenance of various digital, print, and media resources. This position will assist with quality control efforts while maintaining timelines. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in technical writing, editing, and dissemination and may conduct interviews with subject-matter experts to understand and communicate all content considerations.

Requirements

  • Reviews content (print/online) and edits for quality, accuracy, consistency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, voice, and terminology using the BACB style guide.
  • Suggests content revisions and rewrites copy to be appropriate for the intended audience based on the BACB style guide.
  • Develops copy for various resources, including blogs, social media, video scripts, news blurbs, email templates, automatic responses, and instructional documents.
  • Manages copy materials for projects.
  • Optimizes content according to SEO standards.
  • Assists with the creation of training materials.
  • Collaborates with in-house content creators to ensure common understanding and consistency.
  • Verifies facts using available resources.
  • Adheres to and maintains the BACB’s editorial style guide.
  • Establishes and documents quality control measures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, publications, or English or minimum of 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of APA Editorial Style. Minimum of 1 year of experience in technical writing preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and video conferencing.

Base compensation: $65,800 with additional consideration based on experience.

Signing Bonus: $3,500 after the successful completion of 90 days of employment. Bonus is subject to applicable taxes.
