Responsibilities
- Attend news gatherings and propose 5-10 stories every day for close checking, refreshing, and other strategic advancements (feature changes, backlinking, story refreshes, picture streamlining)
- Alert editors in the newsroom to won and lost positioning and follow up to ensure they are actioned
- Conduct keyword exploration, selection, and communication for the day's popular narratives and for tentpole occasions
- Support the larger search team in delivering SEO instructional courses to newsroom editors and consistently review and make recommendations for improved training
- Provide monthly reports on search performance in Google News merry-go-rounds, Google News, and desktop query results
- Regularly benchmark our performance against competitors
