JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for reviewing and revising intelligence or communication products and other documents prepared by DoD analysts for publication into the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS)/Secretary of Defense's Intelligence Update. As such, the editor works with primary authors to edit/rewrite products for organization, grammar, style, accuracy, consistency of technical data, etc. Advises management and analysts with expert technical knowledge of the DIA Style Guide. At the discretion of the Division Chief, the editor is assigned to support crisis management operations, edit desk notes for the senior leaders, and review products for dissemination to partner services. The ability to operate on short timelines, flexibility, and excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  1. 3+ years of experience in producing all-source intelligence analysis and managing the production of analysis products.
  2. 3+ years of experience as a technical editor in an IC organization.
  3. Ability to apply IC analytic standards and analytic tradecraft standards as defined in the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 203 Analytic Standards and ICD 206 Sourcing Requirements to the production of all-source intelligence products.
  4. Ability to support shift work (1100 - 1900).
  5. HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  6. TS/SCI clearance with willingness to take a polygraph exam.

  2. Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
