Assistant Weekend Features Editor

Location: dmg::media Head Office – New York, NY 10003

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 depending on experience

Position: Permanent

DailyMail.com is seeking an assistant editor on the growing Opinion/Features desk in our New York City office. This is an in-office position and a 9-hour shift Monday to Friday but applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as news arises.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Commissioning news features to run on weekends
• Coming up with original ideas and guiding reporters in the field
• Editing feature content on a wide array of topics from news to celebrity and sport
• Editing under tight deadlines
• Restructuring articles
• Researching article ideas
• Working with photo editors to create images to illustrate articles
• Building articles in a content management system

We are seeking professionals with the following experience:

• At least 5 years working as an editor at a newspaper, news website or magazine
• Understanding of the DailyMail.com brand, editorial voice and audience
• Knowledge of online research tools

PTO: Standard allowance is 15 days plus one day per every year of service capped at 20 days. Public holidays are not included in this allowance; they are in addition.
