CABI: Database Editor, Plant Health Job at Ellie Mental Health - 072 in Wallingf

CABI is currently looking for a new resource for their plant health and environment team. The main responsibilities include:

• Identifying database content for inclusion and monitoring the quality of indexing
• Reviewing product coverage and ensuring it is consistent with changes in the field
• Ensuring topical content is written and published on the product

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the quality and comprehensiveness of content in CABI’s plant and environment A&I products
• Complete editorial elements of quality monitoring processes, including reviewing indexing terms added and feeding back to the vendor as needed
• Identify and assess emerging material for inclusion
• Write and publish news and themed pieces on relevant products on a regular basis
• Contribute to projects where editorial input is needed
• Manage continuous review of product coverage and accuracy through review of published literature and relationships with the research community
• Coordinate the addition of terms into the thesaurus based on continued development of research and terminology in use

Minimum Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in a publishing role
• Experience of working with journals and books, and conducting desk research
• Significant experience of abstracting and indexing work, including working with thesauri
• Good eye for detail and organizational skills
• Demonstrable ability in written communication, particularly writing news articles
