JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, assisting, and conducting a variety of activity programs to meet the physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs of residents. Contributes to the overall success of the Lifestyles program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Identifies, plans, schedules, and hosts a variety of on- and off-campus activities/events.
- Schedules entertainment and speakers for activities.
- Identifies needs and wants of residents in order to plan appropriate events.
- Stays within budget assigned to each activity.
- Ensures and maintains a creative, fun, and uplifting atmosphere at every activity.
- Encourages participation in activities through effective promotion.
- Encourages residents to volunteer to enhance their quality of life.
- Ensures supplies and equipment are available for each activity.
- Ensures all necessary forms, agreements, promotion, and calendars for each event are completed thoroughly and on time.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.
- Able to handle stress and get along with others.
- Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- This position requires the level of education typically acquired by a course of study leading to a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Experience planning events required.
- Previous experience working/volunteering with the elderly is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to type with intermediate keyboarding skills.
- Intermediate level computer skills using Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong creativity skills.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
- Able to write simple sentences, paragraphs, and correspondence.
- Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. May be exposed to all types of weather.
Occasional exposure to chemicals used in various activity/craft projects. Expected to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Light Work – Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- Standing: Remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods.
- Walking: Frequently required to move about on foot.
- Must be able to exchange information and express oneself.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/GIVEN
Receives direction from the Lifestyles Manager. May provide direction to volunteers.
