Salary Range: $55,200-$60,200 (Depending on Experience)
Salary Determination: Starting salary rates are based on multiple factors, including the position’s major responsibilities, the applicant’s background (education, work experience, and key competencies), the university’s strategic priorities, internal peer equity, external market analyses, applicable federal, state, and local laws, and negotiated labor contracts.

Position Summary: The Event Media Specialist will have complete knowledge of technology on campus, specifically pertaining to what each event space has to offer. They will be responsible for fulfilling various operational roles based on the scope of requirements for each event. The Event Media Specialist will plan and execute events while using their technical expertise to track, investigate, and recommend technology solutions and best practices. They will create and maintain an inventory of technological supplies and equipment for the Campus Event Management Office. This position will train, communicate, and implement concepts and ideas to event organizers, campus departments, and presenters on technology needed for their events. They will also assist in developing, creating, and maintaining the Campus Event Management website, streaming options, social media, and all other technological needs of the office.

Major Responsibilities:
Administration/Management
- Assist in coordinating facility use for internal and external event users.
- Assist the Campus Event Management team in event planning tasks, including setup, communications, logistics, and cleanup.
- Implement, communicate, and train the Campus Event Management team and campus users on program development and technology best practices.
- Work in partnership with campus stakeholders to produce engaging and inclusive events.
- Maintain accurate records of space and equipment usage to develop reports.
Technical
- Serve as the media production manager for technical aspects of events.
- Develop and maintain the Campus Event Management website.
- Research, identify, and recommend event platforms.
- Develop usage policies, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for technology in event spaces.
- Create an inventory and intake/check-out form for technical equipment and supplies.
Programming
- Assist with coordination of All-University ceremonial events.
- Lead marketing and promotion aspects of events.
- Serve as the technical advisor for events supported by the Campus Event Management Office.
- Participate in campus and community committees as needed.
Personnel
- Create, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student staff for events.
- Develop relationships with Campus Technology Services and other departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience planning and executing events.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, WebEx, or other media platforms.
- Experience with graphic design, website development, and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous event experience in audio/visual work in a higher education setting.
- Experience with hosting virtual and hybrid meetings and events.
