The Graphic Designer role requires an individual with a strong understanding of design principles, experience collaborating creatively with multiple stakeholders, and, ultimately, an interest in expressing our clients’ stories visually across formats and platforms. The Graphic Designer will specifically:

  • Design and produce creative content, including social media shareables, banner ads, and motion graphics, using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Figma.
  • Work in political campaigns and other fast-paced marketing settings.
  • Communicate directly with internal team members to ensure that creative needs are met.
  • Maintain internal and client-facing creative archives.
  • Select, purchase, and organize stock images, video, and music.
  • Track project deliverables, dates, and deadlines and keep up with ever-changing project scopes and schedules.
  • Proactively manage multiple tasks and projects of varying sizes, following up as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry design standards and trends.

Required Skills

The person who will be successful in this position is someone capable of producing high-quality work in a fast-paced, complex, and project-based environment. Because of this, we are seeking an individual with a strong drive and proactive work ethic who can take ownership of and accountability for client projects. We are looking for someone with strong design, project management, and technical skills, including:

  • 1-2 years of design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite.
  • Strong understanding of design principles with excellent visual design and typography skills.
  • Able to graciously give and receive creative feedback.
  • Enthusiastic about proactively developing design proficiencies and seeking out opportunities to do things well and efficiently.
  • A developing ability to self-critique and understand the importance of details in the larger context of our design program.
  • Able to communicate clearly and not afraid of asking questions or following up to keep projects moving.
  • Excellent at understanding and following workflows and is an advocate for the importance of internal design systems.
  • Is deadline-driven and available during occasional irregular hours (evenings and weekends).
  • A passion for progressive change and digital media.

Term: This position will start as a full-time Limited Duration role from hire date through November 2024.

Location: Winning Mark’s office is located in SE Portland, Oregon. Our team is currently in a remote model with no mandatory in-person work; however, there may be optional in-person events/work. Vaccination against COVID-19 is required to work in-person. We are open to considering candidates living outside of Portland, Oregon, who would be willing to work remotely full time on Pacific Standard Time. Many of our clients’ campaigns have critical, time-sensitive deadlines including policy decisions, crisis management, and elections. As a result, there are times when project teams work long and irregular hours (including evenings and weekends) on behalf of our clients.

Compensation and Benefits: This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $3,750 to $4,834 per month, commensurate with prior experience. Winning Mark offers additional allotments for transportation/home office, wellness, and cell phone as well as a robust benefits package, including:
