Job Description:

As an AutoCAD Mechanical Drafter, you will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, program managers, and manufacturing professionals to design and develop parts, assemblies, and sheet metal products to meet our customers’ specific branding needs. You must have previous design experience in a manufacturing environment, work well in a team, and have the ability to manage and adapt to unexpected project changes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop drawings/models to meet customer specifications.
  2. Actively look for better ways to design products, including removing unnecessary complexity without sacrificing structural integrity.
  3. Train and develop new drafters as needed on both AutoCAD and signage industry processes.
  4. Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for new non-stock items.
  5. Work with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time.

Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of AutoCAD sheet metal experience.
  2. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment – signage industry experience is a plus.
  3. Willing and able to teach and train new drafters.
  4. Understanding of sheet metal equipment/machinery (CNCs, bending machines, etc.) and their abilities.
  5. Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Willing to be hands-on and work with shop personnel.
  7. Work directly with Automation and other manufacturing departments to fix/change any issues found during the manufacturing process.
  8. Creative and positive attitude.
